The U-291( )/U is a rear [panel] mount, jam nut receptacle with 12 fixed, solder socket (female) terminals. Typical applications are receiver-transmitters and amplifier mounts for connection of antenna matching unit power and control cabling. Mates with U-289( )/U and U-393( )/U.
The connectors in this category are a series of quick connect/disconnect, medium power [environment resisting] plugs and receptacles as specified in MIL-C-55243(EL). The connectors are intermateable on a specific basis (see below), and feature water tight, polarized, bayonet coupling connector bodies and 12 fixed solder (pin and socket) terminals.
